Carta Pixel
Experimental Typeface
Concept
Carta Pixel takes its name from the transition at the heart of the project: from paper to digital. The typeface originates from the squared grid of a notebook and evolves into a modular digital system, translating an analogue drawing process into a pixel-based visual language.
Type system
The alphabet is built from a single square, repeated and combined to form a structured grid. This simple geometric rule becomes the basis for constructing each letter, exploring how a minimal unit can generate a complete and coherent type system.

The missing X
One letter is intentionally missing: X. Within the grid, its construction resulted in a form too closely associated with a historically charged symbol. Rather than forcing an exception to the system, the letter was omitted and replaced by a question mark.

Weights
Weights
The type system was developed in three weights — Light, Regular and Bold — exploring how the same modular structure could shift in density while preserving the identity of each letterform.
