Visual Identity
Developed for the bicentenary of Louis Pasteur’s birth, the identity reflects both his historical legacy and the lasting impact of his discoveries. Interlocking letterforms form the basis of the visual language, combining separate elements through a process of testing, transformation and recomposition.
Poster concept
The poster uses symbolic forms to express the central idea of the bicentenary. Omega (Ω) marks an ending, referring to Pasteur’s death, while the long s (ſ) suggests birth, continuity and renewal — the beginning of discoveries and scientific advances whose impact extends into the present. Some letterforms are enclosed within square modules reminiscent of the periodic table, reinforcing the connection between typography and scientific language.
Visual System
The wider visual system develops through interlocking letterforms, echoing the logic of experimentation: elements are tested, combined and rearranged until they find the right fit.
The palette pairs a vivid orange with a saturated green, creating a strong contrast that reinforces the experimental and energetic character of the identity.
